Where you are physically located for your session matters.
Therapy is regulated by state, which means you must be in a state where your therapist is authorized to practice at the time of your appointment.
WHERE WE CAN SEE YOU:
NEW YORK • NORTH CAROLINA • MARYLAND • MASSACHUSETTS • VIRGINIA • VERMONT
Traveling? Let your therapist know before your appointment so we can confirm whether the session can take place.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR A VIRTUAL SESSION
A few essentials for a meaningful session.
A private space
Choose somewhere you can speak openly without being overheard or interrupted.
A reliable connection
Use a phone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.
A stationary location
Please do not join therapy while driving. You should be somewhere you can safely give the conversation your full attention.
Couples and families joining from different locations?
That is often possible. Let your therapist know beforehand so we can confirm each participant's location and make sure the setup works clinically and legally.
WHEN VIRTUAL CARE MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT
Virtual therapy works well for many people.
There are times when another setting or a higher level of care may be more appropriate.
We may discuss other options if:
-
you do not have a reasonably private or safe place to participate
-
technology consistently prevents you from engaging in sessions
-
your current needs require in-person assessment, stabilization, or a higher level of care
