Therapy
Being part of a Black family in America can be incredibly challenging. We love deeply, and our instinct to protect those we love can sometimes create barriers that make it hard to communicate openly, set flexible boundaries, and manage our emotions. The weight of these challenges and the pressures of living in a world that often misunderstands or marginalizes us can strain even the closest family relationships. You might feel overwhelmed by the roles of wife, husband, mother, father, or adult child. The good news? You don’t have to navigate these complexities alone. You’ve already taken the first step by seeking help, and I’m here to guide you through the rest.
Navigating Family Transitions Together
I specialize in helping families through significant life transitions, particularly those launching into adulthood, parents struggling to connect with their teenage children, and adults seeking to repair relationships with their parents. If your family is dealing with intergenerational trauma, or if you’re finding it difficult to adapt to the changes that come with different stages of life, I’m here to help.
With education, practical techniques, and tailored tools, we’ll work together to address your family’s unique needs and develop long-lasting solutions. Whether you’re working through misunderstandings with a teen, reconnecting with a parent, or healing from deep-seated family patterns, my approach is warm, supportive, and rooted in a deep understanding of Black families' challenges. My goal is to help families find their way back to each other by improving communication, building empathy, and fostering resilience.

A Holistic Approach to Family Dynamics
Please note that I do not see children alone for most issues, as behavioral problems in children often reflect larger family dynamics. My approach involves looking at the family as a whole, exploring recent changes, and examining parenting styles to address the root of the problem. The only time I work with children individually is during trauma-focused sessions, and even then, a parent or trusted caregiver will join for part of the session to ensure a supportive environment.
Investing in Your Family's Well-being
The cost of a 60-minute family therapy session is $200.
You don’t have to face these challenges alone. With the right support, your family can grow closer, stronger, and more resilient. Let’s work together to create the family life you’ve always wanted.
