What the process looks like
FOUR SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED.
1
Submit your intake form
Share a few basic details about yourself and what you're looking for.
2
Meet for a 15-minute consultation
We'll briefly connect to make sure we're a good fit and answer your initial questions.
3
Complete your intake paperwork
You'll be asked to complete some additional forms before your first session.
4
Begin your first sessions
Once the paperwork is complete, you'll schedule your first session and begin your work together.
What your first sessions may include
The first one or two sessions often focus on understanding what brings you in, exploring important relationships and family patterns, and learning more about your history. We'll talk about your goals for therapy and may also create a genogram (a visual map of your family system) to better understand the bigger picture.
Starting couples or family therapy?
The beginning looks a little different when more than one person is involved.
How long does therapy last?
There is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients come with a focused concern and see meaningful progress in a shorter period of time, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll regularly check in on your goals and progress, and your therapy can evolve as your needs and circumstances change.
